three deer, two dogs and a cat

I try to find
meaning in the mundane
like when tonight
I was walking

with a generation who

promote good health

i get the humor

but the sad part is
I don’t think they do

while boys look like
girls

(which btw, the 70s already did, think ABBA)
it seems that we are losing
our fucking minds

talking lizards fight
deep voiced
white friendly
African Americans
to sell us
car insurance
while Lady GaGa
humps dead unicorns
on stage
covered in Jew blood
singing about who knows what

should the 2012 apocalypse
save us from ourselves
what will be our legacy?

violence

the Mayans knew something
and you can bet your

that it had nothing to do
with unicorns

GOD HATES ALABAMA

I awake with a muffled
yelp,
I was dreaming about
riding in the car with
Leigh and we nearly hit
a bus.

(it happens, bus strikes that is)

I see shadows under the door
and get up to investigate
and start separating dream
from reality
like separating the backing
from an old sticker
it’s not always easy to tell
whats what.

Once I find my flip-flops
and a cut off pair of
jogging pant shorts I
pair them together with
a wife beater and begin my
investigation.

I find one son, awake,
watching Law & Order
Early Morning Victims Unit.
Three pairs of livingroom
dwelling shoes, two tennis,
one sandal and the discarded
couch turned bed I had orginally
fell asleep on after yesterday’s
excercise session.

Questioning why I cannot find
any of my network books to study
I decide that time wasted looking for
said books could be put to use
writing,
so here is what I am able to share
with you at 3:25:12 AM.

A half-assed poem from
America’s Earliest Rising Poet,
no hang over,
no major suffering to speak of at
the moment.

I am a Network Engineer,
who knows that there is
no money in
poetry,
but maybe one day
fame,
which is better than any raise
I could ever hope to get from
being a Network Engineer.

Coffee is getting cold.
I need a bath.
Alabama’s has been destroyed
by a series of tornadoes,
and I can’t see past the end
of my own nose.

Filled with emotions
while alive,
instinctively filled with fear
over death,
though a beast and inhuman,
he has a conscious of soul
belief in good and evil
and dreams of days of
never ending happiness

As he wonders, and ponders
why, he is filled with
strength and a feeling
of content when he finds
his partnership with
his sex mate,
from which procreating is barely
scratching the mysteries
of The Universe.

Until the time comes when
we all return to where we
began we will always be
misunderstood, man and woman alike,
Our love can know no bounds
It cannot be contained in words
or within a ring of gold
or through binding of hands.

The Owl asks for all eternity,
‘Who? Who?’
Who can know the answer to love,
life,
death,
The Universe,
sex and it’s ability to forever
bind us to those we share it with?

When The Dark One
takes us in his wings
and whispers,
‘It is time’,
only then will The Universe
reveals itself and it’s
mysteries, only then will
The Owl sleep, it’s question answered.
