walk away

Hate to see you go but I love to watch you leave..
what is important enough
to you that you
would walk away from
everything you know
and love in an instant
to have, to hold, to be with..
..forever.
a job,
a person,
money,
religion,
death?
there are so few
things in life I
could ever imagine
would cause me to
leave the
comfortable walls I have
built around myself
even fewer now
because now I know
that the things
I dreamt
about
and the reality of the
dream
are nothing alike
we are all so fallible
so imperfect
and cheaply made
and sold
so easily ruined
and spoiled,
like week old fruit..
pungently sweet and
disgusting on the tongue
be very wary of
the dreams you hold,
should you ever come face
to face with them
you may not like
what
you see..
